Statelessness is a cross-cutting issue, which must be factored in when addressing other global challenges. It is also a unique challenge which must be prioritized through creating more statelessness-specific funding opportunities.

Yet, despite being at the intersection of many of the global challenges we face today, statelessness remains an under-addressed issue, falling between the gaps of more established donor priorities. Stateless people and people impacted by discriminatory nationality and citizenship laws are at the periphery, either unnamed within larger movements or afforded only token opportunities to ‘share their stories’ rather than leading change efforts.

At the Global Statelessness Fund, we want to change that.

With our trust-based and participatory grantmaking, we strive to overcome the structural barriers that donors commonly face in funding impacted person-led groups and ensure that a broad base of donors can commit to supporting the statelessness field. You can learn more about our current donors here.
