Feature: Global Statelessness Fund in Oak Foundation’s 2024 Annual Report

We’re proud to share that the Global Statelessness Fund (GSF) was featured in Oak Foundation’s 2024 Annual Report, which spotlights the partners of the Foundation driving change across the globe.

“Within a matter of months, the GSF was providing support to a first cohort of 21* mainly ‘hard to reach’ groups. For example, people who don’t have a bank account, or are unregistered and work under constant threat. Central to this work is GSF’s Accompaniment Programme, which offers mentorship support to grantees to strengthen their organisational development and encourage creative thinking. ISI seeks to find local solutions and works to empower communities. In addition, ‘international networking, sharing good practice and strategic vision boosts morale and motivation, which can hugely amplify impact,’ says Amal.” (page 23)

Oak Foundation also highlighted the contributions of the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion, and our partners Statefree and the Citizenship Affected People’s Network, all of whom are integral to building a stronger movement for equal nationality rights.

Oak Foundation’s three-year commitment to GSF enables us to advance our mission of delivering strategic grant-making and accompaniment to the statelessness field, and strengthening the ecosystem working to end statelessness.

Since the report was published, we’ve expanded our first cohort to 25 grantee partners. You can learn more here.
